a lot of people in Singapore knows about the Arts.
- How we unconsciously are in contact with the Arts in our daily lives.
- How are we able to make the Arts industry more active in Singapore.
- What Singapore should do to make their Arts more unique.
In our ever-growing society, time flies and we tend to forget about the things in life that has never really made a big impact. One of these things are the Arts. If someone were to come up to you and ask you about the Arts industry in our country, would you know what to say? Many things like Arts history and culture have been neglected by us.
Many teenagers and blue collared workers tends to listen to the radio more often that not. This is also a part of the Arts: Music. Another form of the Arts is Drama. Do you realise that the movies you watch, the drama series on the television and the school plays are all part of Drama. Often that not,we do not realise that these things are part of Art. And also the advertisements along Orchard Road, the concerts in Esplanade, the performances at the Victoria Theatre and the branded jewellery, perfume and origami, are parts and parcel of the Arts.
Let me ask you teenagers out there. Have you been to a concert in our very own Victoria Concert Hall? Foreigners come to our country and experience more of our culture in the Arts than most of us do.
We should conduct campaigns to raise the awareness of the people in our country. Campaigns can allow people to showcase their talents in the Arts. We can also create programmes to give knowledge to the lay man of Singapore. Also, to encourage positive attitudes towards the Arts, we can conduct competitions in all different forms. Also, creating innovative riddles to test teenagers on their knowledge of the Arts -as a competition. This idea can instill great interests of the Arts to teenagers whom might not be as exposed too.

the speech is very innovative however it could use a bit more of flowery language and humour as it is not a very serious topic
ReplyDeletevery informative content, though it seems more like an essay than a speech.maybe you can try using more personal words like our country etc instead of using Singapore..
ReplyDeleteThe speech is powerful enough to convince people that arts in Singapore is not active. It should be more emotional. But what I want to admit is that they focused on a sub-category of arts-music which is clear to readers instead of talking about general and blurred term-atrs all the time
ReplyDeletegood speech but i think it goes abit off the point. The title of the speech is how the Arts industry is not active enough, so you should stick to the reasons of it
ReplyDeleteYour speech is not convincing enough. However, its very informative. More emotive words should be used.
ReplyDeleteI think you can improve on your last paragraph 'cause im not really convinced whether the method can work. give exmaples on how the campaign works. By the internet? giving out flyers?
ReplyDeleteTheoints and ideas were well-organized and were very convictive. the examples given were also very typical.
ReplyDeletehowever, there were not enough powerful slogans to cheer up the audience to let them think more about the art industry in Singapore
This is more like a composition than a speech, words that you used are not strong enough to show your point. But the ideas that you came out were VERY GOOD. STRONGLY AGREE WITH U!
ReplyDeleteMore emotive words should be used.Points should be well-explained.i did not really understand how branded perfumes can be part of art. Therefore elaborate on that point.
ReplyDeletePara 1:
ReplyDelete-'One of these things IS'
- 'what would you say' instead of 'would you know what to say' because it is simply a Y/N ans
Para 2:
- 'tends to' and 'more often than not': just use one
Para 3:
- 'raise awareness of pple in Singapore'
- you mean raise awareness of art scene?
